How can we help?
You are able to include other sources of carbon to supplement with anything that has significance to you, which could include (but is not limited to) clippings of hair, cotton clothing, dried flowers, written letters. We ask that you make sure anything you send is completely dry.

Chain of custody is of the utmost importance, and we prioritize our logistics above everything else when it comes to your loved one. We maintain a safe reserve of ashes through the process, use QR codes for tracking at every stage, and work on every customer in isolation.
Absolutely! Ashes never expire. We have customers who send us ashes they have had for more than 20 years. The same is true with hair. If you have a lock of their hair at home, that also does not expire –– and we can use it to create a memorial Diamond.
You can send a referral to Eterneva and we will work with the family until they're ready to move forward. We will bring them back to you to place the order when they're ready.

Yes, there is a lot of carbon in hair! B&B Labs, a leading analytical chemistry lab in College Station, found that hair contains upwards of 30% carbon. We only need a healthy handful of hair to extract enough personal carbon to grow a Diamond.
The ashes to Diamond process includes multiple steps.
- The ashes will be purified to extract the remaining 1-4% of carbon within them. This carbon will be used to grow your memorial Diamond. You’ll receive videos of us transferring your loved one’s ashes, as well as us opening up the purification crucible for the first time to see the carbon within.
- We combine your loved one’s carbon, a microscopic Diamond seed, and generic carbon into a growth cell. This Diamond seed gives a site for the carbon to bond to, similar to how a piece of sand helps a pearl form around it.
- The Diamond growth cell will be placed in a High Pressure High Temperature (HPHT) machine and grown in isolation.
- We harvest the raw Diamond out of the growth cell to see the resulting raw Diamond and do a quality assessment. We'll scan the Diamond (like an x-ray!) to identify the placement of imperfections an
- The rough Diamond will be cut by hand by master Diamond cutters and colored to the specification of the customer. The timing will vary depending on the cut and color of the Diamond.
- The Diamond will be graded by our own in-house GIA certified Diamond Grader. The Gemological Institute of America is one of the top Diamond grading organizations in the world. The report card on your Diamond’s carat size, cut, color, and clarity will be sent home with the Diamond.
- A Homecoming will be scheduled by your Funeral Director.
The entire process takes 12 months (for diamond orders of 1 carat or less)
For 1.5 carat diamonds and above, or diamonds requiring coloration (red, green, black, pink) the process will be greater than 12 months.
You will select your Diamond’s color, size, cut, and what you would like your custom engraving to say. If you would like to change your Diamond after pre-paying, simply reach out to us at info@eterneva.com and we can support
Heat, pressure, time, and carbon. That’s what’s needed for a Diamond to form in the earth’s mantle. Our amazing machines can simulate these same conditions, and grow a real Diamond from the carbon in ashes or hair.
We only need ½ a cup of ashes, so your family will only need to provide a small amount to do this.
