Alexa had a way with absolutely everyone she met. If she were to walk into a room where no one knew one another, by the time she left, everyone would be on a first-name basis. In high school, she taught swimming lessons to kids of all ages and abilities, affecting the lives of her student’s long after their classes. One mother even wrote in: “I always say that no one has to be kind, and especially not to you. But Alexa was kind, and especially to my son. Neither he nor I will ever forget it.”
In college, Alexa continued teaching as she campaigned for leadership positions in her sorority and mentored struggling students in her finance class. Her smile is what I will remember the most –– how bright and beautiful it was, how it always lit up the room, and seemed to turn every head in its direction. There were no tears near Alexa, only joy. That is how she’d want to be remembered.

Alexa’s ashes are back at the Eterneva labs, and we are ready to begin the journey to becoming a diamond. Now, Alexa’s ashes will be put into a crucible that will go through a purification process. When that is finished, her ashes will be carbon in the form of graphite. This is the material we will put in the diamond growth cell to grow her diamond. In your next update, you’ll get to see the graphite as we open the crucible for the first time. Stay tuned!
Alexa’s ashes have been purified and are now pure carbon in the form of graphite. To prepare her carbon for growth, we'll now mill it into a super fine powder, which is the starter material for the diamond. The closure of this phase is a big and exciting milestone! We are now ready to grow her diamond.
Alexas’s rough diamond is beautiful! Now, the diamond will head to Antwerp, Belgium to be hand cut by Eterneva’s master diamond cutters. Master diamond cutters spend decades perfecting their craft, and hand cut every single facet of the diamond. Diamonds have upward of 58 facets. In fact, one of the world’s youngest master diamond cutters will be working on Alexa’s diamond. He is 56 years old.
