What are the benefits of pre planning my future Diamond?

Ensure that you are remembered in a way that is meaningful to you, while giving your loved ones a special way to hold you close. Avoid burdening loved ones with logistics and cost; instead, rest assured you’re gifting them a bright and healing journey to help them move forward.

By pre-planning, you get to lock in today’s pricing and exactly the Diamond design you desire.

Can I preplan for someone else’s Diamond?

Yes, with Blueprint you can either pre-plan for your own Diamond OR prepay for someone else’s Diamond - like a parent, spouse, or pet.

Many people choose to pre-plan for peace of mind, knowing that when the difficult day comes, they won’t have to make arrangements while they’re grieving, and instead have something positive and hopeful to look forward to and focus on.

How do I assign a beneficiary for my Diamond?

As you are creating your login, we will prompt you to provide your beneficiary’s information prior to selecting your Eterneva Diamond. Don’t worry though - if you want to change your beneficiary down the line, you can always do so from your profile upon logging in.

Why choose Eterneva to turn a loved one’s ashes into Diamonds?

Customers choose Eterneva because of the unique grief journey we provide. We believe that when someone loses a loved one they should not be forced to move on, they should be able to move forward with them.

We capture every step in the process of your loved one transforming into a Diamond and send you monthly updates. We also love to inaugurate your loved ones on social media (with permission) to make sure that our entire team, our community and, eventually, the world knows about their remarkable life.

We do everything we can to fight against the second death (when someone’s name is said for the last time), and help our customers do tribute videos, plan homecoming parties for the Diamond, launch legacy projects and so much more. We're a team of people that deeply cares and is personally connected to our work. This is less of a job and more of a calling for all of us.

Our grief journeys are unique, but that doesn’t have to mean they are lonely. We are here to work with you, to learn more about your loved one and what made them so special, and ultimately to celebrate the remarkable lives that make us who we are.

Can I preplan for more than one Diamond?

Of course! Many people choose to pre-plan and pay for Diamonds for their significant other and children to inherit.

You can customize each individual Diamond’s size, color, and shape as you see fit!

Where can I read Eterneva reviews or testimonials?

You can find Eterneva reviews just about anywhere! Eterneva reviews are on Facebook and Google, TrustPilot, The Cremation Institute, and even on our Instagram. You can read a full collection of Eterneva reviews here, or watch a collection of Eterneva video reviews here.

In fact, here is one from a recent customer:

“This whole process is about so much more than the Diamond. I’m learning how to grieve better with you. When my friend lost her dog months after I lost my beloved Fritz, I knew how to sit with her in the pain, how to help her collect the things she’d want to keep, and how to be a better friend in her grieving moments. I can’t wait for my Fritz’s Diamond to come home, and I am already so much more able to lean in to loss and embrace legacy projects, memorials and all the emotions that come with it. Thank you!” –– Grace Halverson, Fritz’s Mom

What happens if I lose my Diamond?

We always extract extra carbon from ashes and store it securely onsite with your permission, so if ever you want to have additional Diamonds made or lose your Diamond, we can grow you another one. We encourage you to insure your Diamond so that you do not incur any additional cost for the replacement.

Instead of cremated ashes, can I use other sources to create a Diamond?

You are able to include other sources of carbon to supplement with anything that has significance to you, which could include (but is not limited to) clippings of hair, cotton clothing, dried flowers, written letters. We ask that you make sure anything you send is completely dry.

What are Memorial Diamonds?

Memorial Diamonds are real Diamonds made from the carbon left in cremated remains, or from the carbon in someone’s hair. Cremation Diamonds are known by a few names including cremation Diamonds and eternal Diamonds.

They are grown using a lab grown application process within a high pressure, high temperature (HPHT) machine, first purifying the cremated remains (ashes) to extract the carbon left within. Cremated remains contain 1-4% carbon depending on the age of the person, their diet, and other factors.

Is there enough carbon in ashes to create a Diamond?

Yes, there is more than enough carbon in ashes to grow a Diamond. We work closely with TDI Brooks International, a world-renowned carbon testing and forensic organization, to test the carbon contents in cremated remains, hair, and aquamation ashes.

https://youtu.be/uYg0gQIkIto

The cremated remains sample contained 3.28% carbon, the hair sample to contained 36.66% carbon, and the aquamation sample to contained 16.91% carbon.

Is there carbon left in ashes after cremation?

Yes, there is absolutely carbon left in ashes. B&B Labs, a leading analytical chemistry lab in College Station, found that cremated remains contain 1-4% carbon depending on the age of the person, their diet, and other factors.

Eterneva is the only memorial Diamond company to offer third-party ashes analysis for customers curious about their loved one's carbon makeup.

Is there carbon in hair?

Yes, there is a lot of carbon in hair! B&B Labs, a leading analytical chemistry lab in College Station, found that hair contains upwards of 30% carbon. We only need a healthy handful of hair to extract enough personal carbon to grow a Diamond.

In what locations are Eterneva Diamonds grown?

Eterneva has growth facilities in both Texas and Europe. Since lab-grown diamond technology originated from Europe, we have some of the best scientists located over there.

We’ve since opened a Texas facility as well so our customers can come see our process in-person. The size and color diamond you choose will determine which Eterneva facility your diamond is grown at. Rest assured there will be world leading experts taking great care of your loved one and we follow strict chain of custody protocols, working on one loved one at a time.

How much does it cost to turn ashes into a Diamond?

The cost for turning ashes into Diamonds varies based on the carat size and Diamond color you want. Cost begins at $2,999 for a .1 carat blue, yellow or colorless Diamond.

Since we only grow one Diamond at a time in our custom machines, the cost will be largely influenced by the amount of time needed for growth. Larger carat sizes will require a longer growth time, and colors outside of yellow, blue or colorless must go through an additional coloration process. Larger Diamonds are also more difficult to grow so the pricing reflects the complexity of hand-crafting a large Diamond. These factors are what determine the cost.

How much pressure does it take to turn coal into a Diamond?

You need much more than pressure alone to turn coal into a Diamond. You’ll need pressure and heat! Roughly 870,000 pound-force per square inch (psi) at 2,500 degree Fahrenheit.

How much ashes or hair do I need?

We only need a half cup of ashes or hair to grow a Diamond. If you have less, don't worry - a small amount goes a long way.

You are able to include other sources of carbon to supplement with anything that has significance to you, which could include (but is not limited to) clippings of hair, cotton clothing, dried flowers, written letters.  We ask that you make sure anything you send is completely dry.

What we would recommend is if you feel comfortable sending in what you have, we can measure this to confirm if the amount is sufficient.

How long does the cremation ashes to Diamond process take?

The entire Diamond process will vary based on the size, cut and color of Diamond that you select. Our Eterneva representatives will be able to guide you through this.

How is a Diamond made from ashes?

The ashes to Diamond process includes multiple steps.

  1. The ashes will be purified to extract the remaining 1-4% of carbon within them. This carbon will be used to grow your memorial Diamond.  You’ll receive videos of us transferring your loved one’s ashes, as well as us opening up the purification crucible for the first time to see the carbon within.
  2. We combine your loved one’s carbon, a microscopic Diamond seed, and generic carbon into a growth cell. This Diamond seed gives a site for the carbon to bond to, similar to how a piece of sand helps a pearl form around it.
  3. The Diamond growth cell will be placed in a High Pressure High Temperature (HPHT) machine and grown in isolation.
  4. We harvest the raw Diamond out of the growth cell to see the resulting raw Diamond and do a quality assessment. We'll scan the Diamond (like an x-ray!) to identify the placement of imperfections an
  5. The rough Diamond will be cut by hand by master Diamond cutters and colored to the specification of the customer. The timing will vary depending on the cut and color of the Diamond.
  6. The Diamond will be sent to IGI for grading. The International Gemological Institute is one of the top Diamond grading organizations in the world. The report card on your Diamond’s carat size, cut, color, and clarity will be sent home with the Diamond.
  7. We schedule a homecoming for your Diamond, and have a team member or a courier deliver the Diamond home to you. Some folks like to throw parties, or small gatherings. Others like to embrace this moment with their loved one. If desired, before the homecoming, we can help set the Diamond. Otherwise, you can work with a local jeweler of your choice to have the Diamond set in jewelry.
How does Eterneva keep track of my loved one's ashes?

Chain of custody is of the utmost importance, and we prioritize our logistics above everything else when it comes to your loved one. We maintain a safe reserve of ashes through the process, use QR codes for tracking at every stage, and work on every customer in isolation.

How does a Memorial Diamond compare to a regular Diamond?

When you commission a memorial Diamond, they are completely custom-made. Our process is intricate, and requires incredible precision to create a Memorial Diamond exactly to your specifications.

Can you help me set my Diamond?

Absolutely! We work with jewelers to help you find the perfect setting for your Diamond if you’d like our help.

Some folks like to have a brand new piece of jewelry, and others like to put the Diamond in a piece of jewelry they already own. Whichever option you prefer, we’re here to help you get the Diamond in its setting so you can begin bringing your loved one with you in the next chapter.

Does the amount of ashes determine the size of a Diamond?

Surprisingly, no. We can extract multiple grams of carbon from only 1/2 a cup of ashes or a healthy handful of hair, and we only need one gram of carbon to grow a Diamond.

Can I turn pet ashes into a Diamond?

Absolutely. Both pets and people contain carbon, and can be turned into a Diamond as a memorialization option. Read more information about memorial Diamonds for pets.

Can I use ashes that have been sitting at home?

Absolutely! Ashes never expire. We have customers who send us ashes they have had for more than 20 years. The same is true with hair. If you have a lock of their hair at home, that also does not expire –– and we can use it to create a memorial Diamond.

Are Eterneva Diamonds genuine?

Absolutely! Eterneva Diamonds are genuine Diamonds. Diamonds are composed of carbon, and there is carbon in cremated remains. Like mined Diamonds, we also grade and certify Eterneva Diamonds to prove authenticity.

We guarantee that your Diamond will meet the minimum carat weight you ordered and be free of visible inclusions. A regrowth may sometimes be required if we don’t meet these standards, at which point we will grow you an additional Diamond to ensure we do.
